Hanse Camping Bremen

Date of Stay 31st March 2018: Stayed two nights at the camp site just on the outskirts of Bremen.  We arrived in time to visit the Science Centre which is located about 1.5 miles from the camp site.  Plenty of interest for the 11 year old grandson who was with me and we spent the rest of the afternoon there.  We drove and parked the motorhome outside and there is a reasonable amount of on street parking.

The camp site was friendly and situated adjacent to the Stadtwalsee – a huge lake which you can walk or cycle around or swim in during the warmer weather.  On the second day we took a taxi into Bremen (about €18) to take a look around.  The Old Town is super impressive in terms of architecture and we managed the 265 step climb to the top of the Cathedral Tower as well as a visit to the Kunsthalle (art gallery) which had some pretty interesting items of ‘art’ such as the picture to the left of what is clearly a loaf of bread in a glass case.  Who am I to criticise – I can’t even bake bread!?

In any event, the sun shone in the afternoon and we were able to sit outside for refreshments before heading back.  Definitely a city worth spending more time in.
