Hegebeintum

Date of stay 30th March: Try saying that when you have had a glass of wine or two!  Completely in the middle of nowhere between Enkhuizen and our next stop which would be Bremen in Germany.  This is a small car park adjacent to a tourist information centre with an exhibition about the surrounding land.  It is also completely free and just one other motorhome there when we arrived whilst another turned up later in the evening

As well as the little exhibition the church is an interesting visit apparently although it was unfortunately not open whilst we were there that day. As we parked up a very English gentleman popped up from behind his hedge at the back of the car park to say hello.  Dutch wife – probably glad of an English voice!

Very quiet roads to cycle on and we took full advantage including cycling to close by Marrum to eat at De Pannekoektrein which may be more simply put as The Pancake Train.  The most amazing pancake selection – the train doesn’t move but the pancakes keep on coming!  Highly recommended.

You get a ticket at the ticket office and proceed to the train where your ticket is punched.  Order and enjoy the great pancakes and present your ticket back at the ticket office when you leave to get your very reasonably priced bill.

The location of the fire is in the map below..
