RS Elysian Specification

RS Elysian A Class Motorhome

RS Elysian A Class Motorhome

Last week I published a rambling blog relating to how we came to our decision on layout.  Now, we have signed off the final specification and the build begins in a few days time so here are the key ingredients in our new vehicle, an RS Elysian S130. I have tried to include web links to sites relating to the equipment for reference where appropriate.

  • Ives Daily 70C with 8 speed auto transmission – for those interested, loads more detail here.
  • Right Hand Drive and 30 feet in length
  • E & P Hydraulic Levelling Legs
  • Tow bar and electrics
  • Spare wheel in garage
  • Air conditioning, electric windows, central locking and keyless entry
  • 2.9KVA Dometic generator running on gas (we didn’t want a third fuel to get on board and diesel option is very expensive) – more detail here
  • Underslung LPG Tanks 55l + 25l
  • Single large slide out for kitchen and lounge area
  • Fresh water 300l, waste 240l and black tank 90l – all fitted with heater elements to prevent freezing
  • One large, one midi and three mini Heki roof vents
  • Beige leather interior with Cocoa Piping
  • Dometic 8000 series three way Fridge Freezer
  • Dometic MW13 combined microwave oven and grill (our decision -no gas oven and extra kitchen storage as a result)
  • Two burner Dometic Hob (our decision – to maximise kitchen worktop space and not many people use more than two burners at one time in any event) with extractor over and separate integrated sink unit with glass lid
  • Macerator toilet
  • Alde gas heating system and Webasto single outlet diesel heater (we wanted the opportunity for a very quick warm up if we needed it as the Alde is great but takes a little time to heat a van of this size).
  • Nature Pure Water filter (an essential for wild camping)
  • External BBQ Point and external gas bottle connector (in case no LPG tank filling available)
  • 32″ Samsung Smart TV in lounge with surround sound
  • 22″ Smart TV with DVD in bedroom
  • Autosat Internet/TV satellite connected to both TVs, iBoost long range WiFi with roof mounted aerial and Huawei router connected to roof mounted 3G/4G Aerial – full detail in this blog post on all this equipment and also here.
  • 2 x 200 amp gel leisure batteries and 1200w inverter with three pin inverted sockets to living area plus BM1 Battery Monitor
  • Reversing camera and reversing sensors at both bumper and high level
  • 6m Thule awning

Load capacity in the vehicle estimated to be just over one tonne

If anyone would like to see the completed vehicle, it will be on the RS Motorhomes stand at the NEC show in October.
