Date of Stay 14th July 2014: The campground is Les Bras d’Or (Arms of Gold) and sits on the lake of the same name.  The most expensive campsite so far at C$55 for the night but excellent WiFi, swimming pool, free coffee in the club house and very friendly staff. All three way pitches with 30 or 50 amp electric, water and waste.

The site is close to Baddeck which has good restaurants.  We had fresh salmon at the Bell Buoy Restaurant – excellent.  Baddeck is also the former home of Alexander Graham Bell with an exhibitors centre to commemorate the great inventor who moved here and whose descendants still live locally in the town.

Today we ‘did’ The Cabot Trail which takes you round the coastline of Cape Breton Island with spectacular views. A small gallery of pictures below can only give the tiniest glimpse of what is a stunning drive through the Highlands of Nova Scotia.
