You may have read this post where I described a visit to the Dometic stand at the NEC, met a very helpful Dometic representative and received a promise that problems with both my Dometic toilet and Dometic fridge would be sorted out for me. I was asked to contact my local Dometic service agent who turned out to be Phil at Derwent Technical Services. Phil works for himself and clearly takes pride in what he does. He is extremely methodical and contacted me almost immediately to ensure that I gave him all the serial and product numbers required so that he could arrive at my house with exactly the right pieces of kit.
Phil spent around half a day fixing both the toilet and the fridge. The fridge had a very bad condensation problem which would blow the control panel (which had already happened once and been repaired by Dometic whilst we were in Holland). This was recognised by Dometic as an original design fault and they fitted a condensation kit and an entirely new panel so hopefully job sorted. The second issue was our two toilet cassettes which sometimes needed two hands to get the valve open when in use in the motorhome. Two entirely new assemblies were supplied by Dometic and these seem much easier to open.
The fridge and cassettes are both two years old so this is a big thank you to Dometic and to Phil at Derwent Technical Services as all this work was carried out at my house without fuss or hassle and for no charge. I shall stick with Dometic in future and would highly recommend Phil at Derwent Technical Services to anyone.
