No Snipes about Snape

Date of Stay October 27th 2012: Lovely overnight stay at Castle Mill Inn in Snape tonight.  Extremely friendly staff and locals in a very picturesque village just outside Bedale in North Yorkshire.  The entry is down a narrow side road with a turn into the pub car park which leads through to the paddock which is the CS site.  It was a very tight squeeze getting the Enterprise in and even tighter getting out.  I actually exited to the right and then reversed back out because i couldn’t make it back out to the left.

The site is small and the paddock is also used to park cars when it’s busy by the looks of it as the pub is a member of local quoits lead – what look like 8 gravestones are actually quoits pitches – a big deal in Bedale apparently with lots of pubs having pitches and an organised league.  There is a lovely dog walk from the site out into the country which we also really enjoyed.

We opted to have Sunday lunch and the food was excellent.  We didn’t leave on Sunday till around 5pm so we felt like we had made the most of our stay which was only £6.  There’s no EHU available.

Well drained and firm grassy area
